Day 60 (Leviticus 5:14-7:10 | Mark 10:32-52 | Proverbs 6:12-19)

Day 60
Leviticus 5:14-7:10
(5:14-17 | 6 | 7:1-10)

God reveals to Moses the guilt offering. I'm sure there is a distinction between the guilt and sin offerings, and the nature of the transgressions that necessitate the offerings, but I'm not sure what that distinction is. God then tells Moses how the priests are to go about performing these offerings.

I'm not really sure what else there is to say on the topic.

Mark 10:32-52
(10:32-52)

Jesus predicts his own death to the disciples again. For us, with the benefit of knowing the full story, it's easy to see what Jesus meant here. But you can't really blame the disciples for not getting it yet - especially the bit about rising again in three days.

James and John make a request of Jesus; they ask to be sat at his left and right in heaven. Jesus says it's not for him to decide who sits where. Which seems fair enough really, but the twelve get all indignant about it. Jesus explains again that whoever among them wants to be great must serve the others.

He then makes the first statement of his real intent (10:45 - "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many").

Finally, a blind man names Bartimaeus cries out to Jesus, but is shouted down by the crowd around him. Instead of being discouraged, he doesn't give up, and eventually gets what he wants. He persevered, even in the face of ridicule.

Proverbs 6:12-19
(6:12-19)

The proverb warns what the consequences of evil and deceit are. It also lists some characteristics detestable to the LORD.
